Bulky Baby Hat

Here is my Bulky Baby Hat pattern from my previous blog. Its the only thing of importance from there so I figured instead of linking the whole blog I will just move the pattern. Hope you like it :]!

(ch 2 does NOT count as a dc in this pattern) This had was worked with bulky yarn and a 6.5 hook.

Start with a Magic chain
Rnd 1: ch 2, 10 dc then sl st into top of first dc
Rnd 2: ch 2, 2 dc in each st around, join with sl st in top of first dc (20 dc)
Rnd 3: ch 2, 1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st repeat around, join with sl st in top of first dc (27)
Rnd 4: ch 2, 1 dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st and repeat around, join with sl st in top of first dc (32)
Rnds 5-7: ch 2, 1 dc in each st around, join with sl st in top of first dc (32)
Rnds 8-9: ch 2, fpdc in next st, bpdc in next st (alternating around) join with sl st in top of first fpdc
finish and weave in end.

you cant really see the effects of the fpdc and bpdc in the pictures, but i think its mainly due to the color of the yarn.
now with hats i always make them then end up flipping them inside out after im done, it just looks better to me. the inside is always smoother. but thats completely up to you! you can adjust this by making row 4 a 1 dc in next 2 sts then 2 dc in next st...and going from there. if you find anything wrong with it be sure and let me know!!

  4. Any suggestions on how to make this into an adult size hat? I'm still a beginner and don't know how to make such adjustments.

  5. Yes maam! All you have to do is add a few more rounds of increase then just finish from row 5. So go from row 4 and do 5 dcs then 2 in next stitch all the way around and the row after do 6 dcs then 2 in next stitch and so on until you think its wide enough.

  7. How did you get 27 dc in row 3? I get 30, since every other stitch gets 2 that means half of the row gets an extra stitch (10 single dc, 10 double dc makes 20 stitches, makes 30 total). This then throws off my count from what you have written. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for the pattern, an in advance for the help!

  8. What is the sizing of this hat? I mean, what age of baby will it fit? 3-6 mo? 6-9 mo? 9-12 mo?
