This is the new BLEEEP.

Ok so heres the deal..I am tired of being misses nice girl and pretending to like everyone and everything. I am about to get real and FINALLY let loose a little ya hear? This is not going to be your ordinary blog about crafts (because quite frankly...I dont get to craft that often anymore now that Baby V is here), its going to be that and more...much more...like hold on to your panties and bring on the vodka more. Guess what..you are going to be able to hear about my everyday killer life..doesnt that sound great? If I were you I wouldnt be to sure either, but take it or leave it loves because this is how its going to be. I am here...I am now...I am going to be your no bullshit guide to living...well...living like me! So strap yourselves in and enjoy the ride.

So as I make my first post to the new world of A I am thinking to myself...have I bit off more than I can chew...and the answer is...YES OF COURSE I HAVE BUT ISN'T THAT THE DAMN POINT?! Bite off more than you can chew...because when you do you ultimately get the opportunity to spat in the face of whoever is near you, and who doesnt love a good spat in the face eh? Whether its in my face or in the face of someone else...you cant deny the hilarity of it, all you can do is laugh my love, all you can do is laugh.

First week sewalong challenge...CHECK!

So I went along with the crochet hook case for week one of the sewalong and I will say that I'm pretty pleased with it! I made up my own pattern for it since I couldn't find one that I really loved so here it is!

Sorry for the crappy pictures :x. I have yet to figure out how to make my pictures look cute! Argh!! Plus when I'm taking them its usually at night so I can't use natural light :[. But anyways..
So I attempted to make a tut for this pouch, and completely forgot to take pictures of about three steps, which are very important! So I can't post a tut just yet, but I will get a tut on here soon I swear! Not that anyone in particular has asked me or anything...I just really want to :]. Actually I did get asked to do a tut for the hooded towel I make, but I haven't been able to get more terry yet so I haven't gotten around to that just yet.
On a side note, I made my first dress today! It is so adorable!! I just have to get some nice satin ribbon that matches then its done and I will post pictures. But I absolutely love how it came out. Und das ist alles! Goodnight lovelies :]

Ice Cream Cozy pattern and sewalong news!

So a couple of the ladies from BBC decided to start a sewalong!! This week we are choosing between a crochet needle case and a sewing machine cover, or both! I think Im going with the crochet needle case, seeing as how I have been meaning to make one for a while but just havent gotten around to it! If I have time by the end of the week I might just make the sewing machine cover as well but we'll see :]. So hopefully my next post will be either a picture or a tut about my crochet needle case! This one is a NEW PATTERN!!! I have spent the majority of today coming up with a ice cream cozy! My family likes to eat ice cream out of the pint so I figured it was pretty practical, and not to mention cute! So I came up with this all on my lonesome :] and Im pretty happy with it. I suppose Ill be posting it on ravelry as well, but Im starting out here! Show me some love and I might just come up with some more patterns and things!!

Ice Cream Cozy Pattern
I made this pattern using a size 5 hook and a medium weight cotton yarn.
Start by chaining 4 and slip stitching to form a ring.
Row 1: Ch 2, make 11 DCs in the ring and slip stitch in the top of the first DC (chain 2 does NOT count as a DC throughout the entire pattern) (11)
Row 2: Ch 2, 2 DCs in each stitch across (22)
Row 3: Ch 1, 2 SCs in each stitch across (44)
Row 4: Ch 1, HDC2TOG in back loops only all the way across (22)
Row 5: Ch 2, 1 DC in each stitch across (22)
Row 6: Ch 2, *DC in next 7 stitches, 2 DCs in 8th stitch* repeat all the way across (24)
Row 7: Ch 2, *DC in next 5 stitches, 2 DCs in 6th stitch* repeat all the way across (28)
Row 8: Repeat row 6 (31)
Row 9: Ch 2, DC in each stitch across (31)
Rows 10 & 11: Ch 1, SC in each stitch across. After row 11 tie off and weave in ends. (31)
And VOILA!! There is your Ice Cream Cozy, now go eat some ice cream with warm hands :]

A few finished projects :]

I have been working on a handful of things for my little muffin, and to share with the world! So now its time to share them with the world :].
So here are two onsies that I appliqued for one of my best friends who is having twins! I made the hats a while ago..now I just have to send them off to her.
This is the blanket I have been working on for a while, it is so cute and so soft...just taking foreverr to finish making! I think I overestimated myself and made it a little too big, oh well I will finish it eventually!
By second pair of Leggies that I made!
First pair of Leggies that I made :]
Bamboo silk baby hat! This yarn is soooo soft, I just love it!
My first ever attempt at putting ear flaps on a hat...I think it turned out alright but it will definitely have to be fixed up a bit.
Diaper pouch I made, it turned out a little bit too small for me to use...But its cute nonetheless.
Second diaper pouch I made, different style and bigger...now I just need to make it with a cute fabric so I can use it!
 AAAAAnnnndddd, my wet bag :]
So these are the things I have made recently. I have a few others that I just havent taken pictures of. If yall like anything in specific let me know and I might make a tut for it! I was asked to make a tut for my hooded towel so eventually I will be working on that. I just have to get to the store and get some more fabric to make them! Here it is by the way...

What a beautiful morning

Today was gooooorgeous! One of the nicest days I have ever seen, literally in my entire life. Absolutely beautiful. But anyways..today mom took me shopping at the outlets :]. I am officially DONE buying baby clothes!! I now believe I have enough, maybe too many...but enough! Now to get everything set up and washed and get my diapers bought, then I will be done with everything. That will be a relief. There are still a handful of things I need but most of it can wait. The only thing I REALLY need is diapers. Oh by the way, in case yall wanted to know...I am most definitely going cloth. I plan on reducing my carbon footprint as best I can, and I think this is the best place for me to start. And plus, they are freaking adorable!! I have a couple of them already, but nowhere near enough to be able to use them full time. But the ones I have are soooo cute! I just need to find one with elephants on it! I love elephants :]. I got some new fabric in the mail today, and its adorable...Elephant Fabric - destash :D.
Now to figure out what Im going to use it for haha.
I started to crochet a blanket today, without a pattern! So far its going good, I had to take out a few rows and fix a few things but its pretty cute so far! Ill put up a picture of my work in progress within a couple of days...maybe after I get a little farther on it. Have a great weekend darlings!!!

Bulky Baby Hat

Here is my Bulky Baby Hat pattern from my previous blog. Its the only thing of importance from there so I figured instead of linking the whole blog I will just move the pattern. Hope you like it :]!

(ch 2 does NOT count as a dc in this pattern) This had was worked with bulky yarn and a 6.5 hook.

Start with a Magic chain
Rnd 1: ch 2, 10 dc then sl st into top of first dc
Rnd 2: ch 2, 2 dc in each st around, join with sl st in top of first dc (20 dc)
Rnd 3: ch 2, 1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st repeat around, join with sl st in top of first dc (27)
Rnd 4: ch 2, 1 dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st and repeat around, join with sl st in top of first dc (32)
Rnds 5-7: ch 2, 1 dc in each st around, join with sl st in top of first dc (32)
Rnds 8-9: ch 2, fpdc in next st, bpdc in next st (alternating around) join with sl st in top of first fpdc
finish and weave in end.

you cant really see the effects of the fpdc and bpdc in the pictures, but i think its mainly due to the color of the yarn.
now with hats i always make them then end up flipping them inside out after im done, it just looks better to me. the inside is always smoother. but thats completely up to you! you can adjust this by making row 4 a 1 dc in next 2 sts then 2 dc in next st...and going from there. if you find anything wrong with it be sure and let me know!!

To new beginnings.

I have decided to leave my old blog for this new one I created. My old one wasn't amazing or anything, but I needed to change the name, and I like this one! I made it alot simpler. So heres to my new blog!
So I'll start off by saying, welcome, to anyone who happens upon this blog! Now I know its nothing special but its my little slice of alone time in this hectic life I lead so take it or leave it darlin!
So I am sitting here feeling the gigantic ROLLS by little girl is doing in my belly! She has not let up all day! But its ok, just a few more weeks and I get to meet this precious thing I have growing inside me, and I couldn't be more excited! So this will most likely end up being stories about my life with Oakleigh, among other things, and a blog about being crafty! I am a sewer and a crocheter so I have a handful of tricks up my sleeve, but we'll see!
